abstract = "The objective of this paper is to evaluate the feasibility on the
use of JERS-1 SAR data for soil moisture retrieval based on two
predictive models presented by Oh et al. (1992)and Dubois et al.
(1995), comparing the results obtained with field measurements.
The model from Oh et al. could not be inverted. Dubois's model was
inverted, but required the insertion of estimated values of
roughness to be used with mono-polarized SAR data such as JERS-1
data. The results were very satisfatory. The inversion model is
quite sensitive to the precision of the estimated roughness.",
